This game was simply.. Amazing. The visuals, the music, the story were near perfect and really breathtakingly well done. Visuals and music were enthralling and something that never got old, the story as it unravelled was really intriguing and really kept the game going as well. Everything was so well thought out and so well done, it was such a great game.
My computer got about 0.5 frames per second and my computer couldn't make it past the bus scene but the music is very relaxing and the few visuals I did see make this game worthy of 5 stars just wish I could enjoy more of it.
This game is beautiful and have a good port for linux (except that I can't play it directly from itch.io app), can I help with a translation to Portuguese?
Here's how linux users can fix the issue of not being able to launch the game: go into the games install and launch the game with HWKWA_Linux_x86.x86 (no need for wine or marking it as an executable) and then you're all good

This ending was so brutal and honest and hard hitting I felt it echo. Thank you for creating something so powerful and moving. It made me reflect on how I think of my friends I also left at home, and the lives they're living now. Thank you <3
Have not played this yet, but I just wanted to leave a comment saying I REALLY dig this atmosphere! Glum, dark, rainy, and I love the pixel art~. I'll definitely be sliding you a few bucks when I get this. The visuals alone deserve that much~.
I created an account just to write this comment the graphicas of the game are amazing the story is the most fucking briliant and beautifull thing I have ever seen in my life ever legitimatly. In the end a single teardrop fell from my eye something that had never happened to me either it was with a game a series or a movie how Sara just looks back at her life is incredible and you should do a part 2 but don't make it a crime game where you have to figure out clues no keep the story and the plot completely amazing like this game.
yep i can confirm that doesn't work on linux and yep in the .sh it tries to launch HWKWA_Linux_x86.x86 but the file name is HOWWEKNOWWEREALIVE_Linux_x86.x86. even when change the script the application just grab your cursor and in my case freezes my lap. :/
Found a bug: After visiting the "creepy house", if you click on Elsa in the street rather then just walk by her, you'll skip the conversation with her. Then you walk on to get caught in an infinite loop at the police station, repeating the first conversation you had with the guy over and over.
EDIT: Just finished the game and really liked how it wrapped up. Overall a considerate, emotional and very atmospheric game. Thank you.
I loved the graphics and music and story. I loved the whole thing! It was so beautiful, I was teary-eyed the whole game. I was actually hoping for another plot-twist after the plot twist, and hoping that Sara was right somehow. Maybe its just because I was too connected to Sara and I cant accept it either. But still, this game is beautiful.
